Dubbed the new Bollywood prince and Bollywood’s new singing sensation, 17-year-old Sony Superstar season two winner Mohammed Faiz, is billed to shower some his love on mothers at the event, Annual Mother’s Day Spectacular in Central, on May 11.

To be staged at Centre Pointe Mall Auditorium, Chaguanas, Trinidad, at 8pm, the producers said they cannot wait to welcome the heartthrob.

Faiz opens for a cast that comprises some of T&T’s mega singing superstars where a wide range of genres, eras, content and instrumental prowess is expected, as well as comedy.

Creator of the event, radio personality Raffie Mohammed, said the event debuted in 1991:

“Every year we offer top-of-the-line local and international acts and attract international patrons,” he revealed.

Faiz is looked upon as a very special guest for this year, not only for being a teen or for his swift elevation to stardom, but for leading off the event that opens its third decade, omitting the two pandemic years.

Patrons would relive the ‘90s when Indar delivers his setlist; hear versatility at its best from Neval Chatelal; and be amazed by multi-instrumentalist and musical whiz, Abhijit Anchortassoo and reigning winner of the Hindi Film Singing and MGCO Youth Talent Competitions, Victoria Maharaj.

Acts carded to appear on the night, include: Amin Sooknanan “The Ultimate Lover”, sensational Climaxx “The Prince of Mixing”, comedy icon, Kenneth Supersad, 411 Dancers, Nandani and Hanna Rae. To be sure: an explosive night of splendour, great music, dance, food, drinks and laughter is promised.

Mohammed Faiz was born Mohammed Faiz Khan on February 17 in Jodhpur Rajasthan in India to parents Sageer Ahmad and Shabnam Bano; is brother to Ayesha and Sahiba Khan; began learning music at eight as tutored by his grandfather and has appeared in singing competitions Love Me India and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs.

Originated in India and premiered on June 29, 2019, the Superstar competition is an Indian Hindi-language-singing reality show that is broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television, and focuses on kids seven to 15 years. Faiz had a great reigning year with a series of chartbusters including his latest single Kabhi Shaam Dhale, which is a re-creation of Oscar-winning-musician M.M. Keeravani’s evergreen composition from the movie Sur and a song that was reimagined by Jaani.

The young talent said since he won the competition his sleeping habits have changed, but admits that his teachers are very supportive. He resides in Mumbai but his school is in Jodhpur, and while school is a priority, he wants to make music for an international audience.

Faiz said he would like to make urban music and also collaborate with greater artists.

“I am excited to visit Trinidad and perform at the Mother’s Day concert in Chaguanas. I love you!” Faiz announced.

He said not only is he excited to experience the culture, but to swoon the audience with his winning Superstar song list: "Kesariya", "Khamoshiyan", "Kaise Hua", "Pelha Nasha" and "Koi Mil Gaya", among others..
