Chris Brown - Under the Influence – The Jamaican Edition
It’s been 13 years since Chris Brown last performed in Jamaica and undoubtedly the island waits with bated breath to witness one of the greatest performers of this time.
His love affair with Jamaica and Jamaican artistes dates as far back as the early 2000s when the ‘Energy God ‘Elephant Man jumped on the ‘Wall to Wall’ remix. The pair have had iconic stage moments at Reggae Sumfest 2010 and in the diaspora.
Chris Brown’s love for dance and high energy performances have no doubt drawn him to Jamaican culture and influence. His recent collaboration with Konshens on the ‘Bruk Off Yuh Back’ Remix is another ode to Jamaican culture. We hear there may be another Jamaican collab in the making too…
In a career that has seen the highest and lowest points in entertainment, Chris Brown epitomizes an artiste with heart and his resilience knows no bounds. The singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, and actor is one of the most successful R&B singers of his generation, referenced by many contemporaries as the "King of R&B".
Brown’s Under the Influence tour has grossed $11,701,185 USD with an estimated 122,718 tickets sold globally. This Jamaican leg will continue the upward trajectory of the tours success and will also cement the Island’s National stadium as an iconic venue for Caribbean entertainment. This, after hosting among other events, Buju Banton’s Long walk to Freedom and Burna Boy’s Love Damini Tour.
