Powered by the National Carnival Commission, B Mobile, Boom Champions, LIT 102.3, POWER 102, Blue Waters, Paria Suites Hotel & Conference Centre, and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & The Arts this year, the competition, said Southex, carries a white-themed dress code, with an artistic strategy planned for the night, where the arena will become ablaze with an explosion of colour and excitement, as they rekindle and entice a younger more vibrant market to attend the show.

New features are added to the event with one being the fete-like element titled, "Something Different", while not losing the essence of the competitions.

"There will be two competitions in one with a bigger prize structure," said Southex. Included will be a condensed competition with six artistes vying for the King and six for the Queen, and the prizes for the Queen are bigger than last year’s, as well as for the Chutney Monarch.

Ravi B and Karma and GT the Band are carded for feature concert acts, while among other guest artistes will be Neval Chatelal and Nishard Mayrhoo.

For the International Wild Cards, artistes are given the opportunity to compete at the final with a guaranteed purse of TT$30,000.
